|2020-2021 Jockey Club Futsal League (Div.2) - League Update
The Futsal League – Division 2A new season also kicked-off on Tuesday evening, as Heng Wah Football Club locked horns with North District in Sha Tin Racecourse Sports Ground. Both sides traded goals back-and-forth in the encounter and eventually settled on a 2:2 draw at the final whistle.
Early in the first half, Ma Kwok-kwan almost put North District in front with a ferocious strike from the left wing, only to send his shot across the Heng Wah Football Club net.
Afterwards, North District had another decent scoring opportunity, as LI Shu-yeung connected with a teammate’s delivery and blasted a one-timer towards the Heng Wah Football Club goal. Unfortunately for North District, LI Shu-yeung shot went wide off target.
On the 10th minute, Heng Wah Football Club had a superb chance to break the game open. Lam Kwok-on seized an opening and unloaded a cracking shot from the middle, forcing out a superb reaction save from North District goalkeeper Wong Tsz-ho.
Late in the first half, North District’s Hon Lung and Thiago tested the Heng Wah Football Club defense with shots-on-goal, yet both efforts were smartly turned aside by goalkeeper. The first half wrapped up as both teams went scoreless.
The pace of the game picked up visibly in the second half.
On the 21st minute, Heng Wah Football Club swamped the North District goal with dangerous shots. At the end, Ng Kam-lung came up successful with a fine strike to put his side in front.
However, Heng Wah Football Club’s joy was short-lived, as North District tied the game on the 23rd minute. Hon Lung made a darting run down the left wing, then knocked the ball towards the middle. Man Wai-fung picked up the ball and belted a left-footer into the net, tying the game at 1:1.
The goals kept coming and it was North District once again on the 25th minute. This time, Tse Chun-choi forward pass found Man Wai-fung. The latter beat the Heng Wah Football Club goalkeeper to the ball and fired it home. North District was now in front by a goal.
The drama continued to unfold, as Heng Wah Football Club quickly answered back. On the 28 minute, Lai Yat-fai shot from the right side rung off the goal-post, Chiu Chun-ngong converted the rebound and sent the ball into the net. The score was now 2:2.
Both sides had their own scoring chances to bag the potential match-winner afterwards, yet came up just short.
At the end, Heng Wah Football Club and North District shook hands on a well-played 2:2 draw.
