Kwoon Chung Southern hosted Wofoo Tai Po on Saturday afternoon in Aberdeen Sports Ground for the lone BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture of the day. A brace from Stefan Pereira, plus a lone goal from Lee Ka-yiu, saw Kwoon Chung Southern overcoming Wofoo Tai Po through a 3:1 victory.

The home side wasted little time and duly opened the score on the 9th minute. Pacey winger Awal Mahama did well on the right side and knocked a teasing cross towards the middle. Stefan Pereira showed off great striker’s instinct and finished off the attack with a neat strike, putting Kwoon Chung Southern in front 1:0.

Kwoon Chung Southern added another goal a few minutes later. On the 12th minute, Lee Ka-yiu connected with an Awal Mahama centering pass and tucked the ball home from inside the Wofoo Tai Po penalty area. The home side quickly established a 2:0 lead.

Kwoon Chung Southern was not done and expanded its lead on the 16th minute, as Stefan Pereira capitalized on a melee inside the Wofoo Tai Po box and fired the ball home, giving the home side a 3:0 lead less than twenty minutes into the game.

On the half hour mark, Wofoo Tai Po had a solid chance to get on the scoreboard, as Chiu Siu-wai pulled the ball back for teammate Cheng Tsz-sum. Cheng pulled the trigger on a sweet strike, forcing out a superb save from Kwoon Chung Southern goalkeeper Ng Wai-him.

Late in the first half, Wofoo Tai Po produced one more scoring chance, yet Paulo Simionato’s long range bomb failed to hit the Kwoon Chung Southern goal.

The first half eventually concluded with Kwoon Chung Southern enjoying a three-goal lead over the visiting Wofoo Tai Po.

Kwoon Chung Southern almost pulled further away on the scoreboard early in the second half. On the 53rd minute, Lee Ka-yiu found himself on the receiving end of a Stefan Pereira forward pass, then unloaded a dangerous shot towards the Wofoo Tai Po net, only to be turned away by the extremely alert Li Hon-ho in net.

Wofoo Tai Po managed to get on the scoresheet on the 66th minute, as Luiz Dos Santos buried his strike from the Kwoon Chung Southern doorstep. Wofoo Tai Po was down by two goals at this point.

The New Territories side continued to search for the next goal and nearly came up with it on the 75th minute. Joao Emir sent a great cross towards the middle. Chiu Siu-wai dished out a tasty header towards the net, only to see his effort paved away by Ng Wai-him in the Kwoon Chung Southern goal.

Deep in stoppage time, Wofoo Tai Po generated one last scoring chance, yet Chiu Siu-wai failed to hit the target with his header.

The game eventually ended in 3:1, as Kwoon Chung Southern secured a premier league home victory over Wofoo Tai Po on the day.
