Kwoon Chung Southern faced off against Lee Man on Sunday afternoon for a BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League fixture. Leong Ka-hang’s impressive hat-trick, plus a goal from veteran Jorge Tarres, powered Lee Man past Kwoon Chung Southern 4:0.
Lee Man got off to a dream start and opened the score early in the game. On the opening minute, Martins Givanilton’s cross was duly knocked home by Jorge Tarres from close-range, putting Lee Man in front 1:0.
Kwoon Chung Southern tried to pull one back on the 4th minute, yet Stefan Pereira’s free-kick failed to trouble Lee Man goalkeeper Yuen Ho-chun.
On the 19th minute, Lee Man had another scoring chance, as Tam Lok-hin knocked the ball deep into the Kwoon Chung Southern penalty area. Cheng Siu-kwan attempted an ambitious volley but failed to solve Kwoon Chung Southern goalkeeper Tse Tak-him.
Kwoon Chung Southern nearly tied the game on the 29th minute. Jack Sealy’s teasing cross was knocked back by James Ha. Hui Wang-fung pulled off a timely shot from point-blank but was turned away by Yuen Ho-chun in the Lee Man goal.
It was back to Lee Man’s turn on the 36th minute, as Jonatan Acosta shook off his marker and then found teammate Cheng Siu-kwan through a clever pass. Cheng stepped up and pulled the trigger but blasted the ball over the Kwoon Chung Southern crossbar.
Late in the first half, the referee spotted Kwoon Chung Southern’s James Ha committing a serious foul and duly showed the player a red card. Kwoon Chung Southern only had ten players left on the pitch.
Lee Man capitalized on the numerical advantage in the second half and added to its lead on the 59th minute. Cheng Siu-kwan sent Leong Ka-hang loose with a lovely forward pass. Leong beat Kwoon Chung Southern goalkeeper Tse Tak-him to the ball and poked it into the net, making it 2:0 for Lee Man.
On the 65th minute, Lee Man’s Martins Givanilton started a great move down the left wing and cut back into the middle. The lively Brazilian eventually unloaded a dangerous shot but somehow sent the ball wide.
Lee Man made it 3:0 on the 74th minute, as Yu Pui-hong’s cross was smartly knocked home by Leong Ka-hang at the front-post. Lee Man was cruising home at this point.
Leong Ka-hang completed his hat-trick on the 77th minute, as the Lee Man striker found himself on the receiving end of a Martins Givanilton cross and directed the ball towards the Kwoon Chung Southern goal. The ball first hit the crossbar and then entered the net. The score was now 4:0 for Lee Man.
The 4:0 score remained unchanged towards the full-time whistle, as Lee Man went on and shut out Kwoon Chung Southern by four goals.
