|2019-2020 Jockey Club Futsal League (Div.1) - League Update
Sparta Asia and Tuen Mun gathered in Shek Kip Mei Park Sports Centre on Thursday evening for an exciting battle in the Jockey Club Futsal League First Division. Tuen Mun conceded the opening goal but fought back and defeated Sparta Asia by 3:2.
Early in the game, Tuen Mun’s Leung Wai-lok and Leung Wai-cheung both had scoring chances but could not beat Sparta Asia goalkeeper Ricky Chan.
On the 5th minute, Sparta Asia’s Ho Chun-hin connected with a teammate’s corner-kick delivery but saw his shot rung off the goal-post and stayed out of the net.
Several minutes later, Tuen Mun’s Chau Cho-wai and Wong Yu-hin teamed up for a great move and penetrated the Sparta Asia defense. Chau pulled the trigger on a timely shot but could not locate the target.
On the 14th minute, Sparta Asia’s Lai Ka-hong saw his shot nicely saved by Tuen Mun goalkeeper Chan Hin-chung. Lai went for the rebound but fired the ball wide off target.
Right before half, it was Sparta Asia once again. This time, Wong Yi-ching spun-and-fired from inside the Tuen Mun penalty area but sent his shot wide off the opposing goal.
Both sides turned it up a notch in the second-half and goals started to come flowing in. On the 23rd minute, Tuen Mun defense failed to clear the ball away. Kwan Kin-long stepped up and drilled the ball into the net, putting Sparta Asia in front.
On the 26th minute, Tuen Mun drew level, as Leung Wai-lok picked out teammate Leung Wai-cheung with a fine forward pass. The latter buried his chance and tied the game for Tuen Mun at 1:1.
Tuen Mun took the lead on the 34th minute, as Chau Cho-wai darted into the Sparta Asia penalty area, rounded the keeper and fired the ball home. Tuen Mun was in front 2:1.
On the 35th minute, Sparta Asia’s Wong Yi-ching made a great turn and smashed the ball into the Tuen Mun goal. The game was now tied at 2:2.
A minute later, the Sparta Asia defense failed to clear the ball away to safety. Tuen Mun’s Ip Kwok-hei seized the opportunity, walked the ball past the goalkeeper and tucked it home. The score was now 3:2 with Tuen Mun in front.
Both sides failed to add to the score in the dying minutes, as Tuen Mun defeated Sparta Asia by 3:2.
