|Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme - Summer Scheme 2019
This summer, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) invite local youths again to join “Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme – Summer Scheme 2019” to enjoy football and take the step towards their dream.
“Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme – Summer Scheme 2019” is organized by the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA), subvented by Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as Major Partner. The programme provides a football platform for over 10,000 local young football lovers aged 4 to 17 every year to nurture their interests in the sport. Through a series of training and small-sized matches, the programme encourages the participants to challenge themselves and breakthrough together so as to achieve their football dreams.
A press conference was held today (12 June) for the “Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme – Summer Scheme 2019”. Mr. Paul Woodland, Chief Executive Officer of HKFA, Miss Donna Tang, Executive Manager, Charities (Grant Making – Sports and Environment) of HKJC, and Ms. Fung Ka Wai Annie, Chief Leisure Manager (Sports Development) of LCSD, officiated at the ceremony, symbolizing the passion and love in football will be continued and carried forward every year. Mr. Fabio Alcantara, assistant coach and player of Best Union Yuen Long, Miss Lau Ting Chi, former member of Hong Kong Women’s U-19 Representative Team, awarded best young player Wu Chun Ming, and Hong Kong Women’s Football Representative Team member, So Ho Lam also shared their experience during the press conference.
Mr. Paul Woodland, CEO of HKFA said “The Summer Scheme is one of the highlights in the Hong Kong football development calendar every year. Thanks to our sponsors and partners for their continuous support, especially to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and LCSD. This programme provides thousands of teenagers with the opportunity of learning and playing football in a safe and fun environment. HKFA hopes more children will join the programme this year and enjoy the summer together, their enthusiasm about playing football will be enhanced through training and having more match experience. I look forward to another successful scheme and would encourage children in Hong Kong of all skill levels to join us.”
The Summer Scheme runs from July to September and the enrolment will start on 13 June. All young football lovers are welcomed to join and enjoy football this summer!
