|2018-2019 Jockey Club Futsal League FA Cup (Round 2) - League Update
2018-2019 Jockey Club Futsal League FA Cup (Round 2) kicked off on Thursday evening, with Resources Capital taking on Pak Hei. Both sides competed hard on the evening and contributed to a nine-goal thriller but at the end, it was Resources Capital that came out on top by defeating Pak Hei 5:4.
Resources Capital started the game positively and established a two-goal lead in the first-half, through goals from Law Ho-yin and Tai Tsz-chung.
Early in the second-half, Resources Capital pulled further away through a well-taken goal from Leung Sin-fung. Pak Hei then mounted a comeback and scored four goals in succession through Choi Tsz-lun (two goals), Lam Chun-hung and Lai Chun-wai. However, Resources Capital refused to give up, as veteran Chow Ka-wa netted two goals late in the game to make it a 5:4 victory for his team.
Resources Capital mainstay Leung Chong-yip admits the game was truly a roller-coaster affair.
“We suddenly started to relax after establishing a nice lead, allowing the opponent to come back and went in front,” Leung said.
“Thankfully, our veteran Chow Ka-wa stood up, took charge and scored two goals late in the regulation to win the game for us. It definitely shows why it is good to have a wily veteran in the squad.”
Choi Tsz-lun, who scored two goals for Pak Hei on the evening, was visible disappointed after the loss.
“We competed hard throughout the game and to go neck-and-neck against Resources Capital was a pretty decent showing,” Choi reflected.
“We did not have our full-team available on the evening and coming up short against Resources Capital was no shame indeed.”
